Dr Sandra Gongora.
Occupational Medical Officer
Sandra is an Occupational Physician with 12 years of experience within the mining and heavy industry area, she came to Australia to assist BHP Billiton, the leading Australian mining company, to develop the Occupational health system in its Townsville site.
After 3 years of learning the Australian health and safety legislation, its culture and medical system, she decided to run the pathway to get the Australian recognition of her medical qualifications and experience.
Today she is registered by the Queensland’s Medical Board to work as the Occupational medical officer at TropOcc Health Services, has been appointed by the Coal Board as Nominated Medical Adviser to perform its medicals and is a Designated Doctor by Queensland Workplace Health and Safety to support the Townsville area companies with the regulation requirement to monitor their workers health.
Dr Gongora has been highly trained to implement and developed health and safety management systems on site and has obtained certification as Lead Auditor for ISO 18000 and ISO 9000 (Quality assurance).She combines her medical background with the ability of “on field” assessment of hazards and workers exposures to be able to plan and execute the health and safety measures and activities required by WHS legislation and management systems to eliminate or minimised the occupational risks and reduce the occurrence of work related illness and disease.
Early detection of work exposure health effects and understanding the benefits of return to work are her career aims.
Dr Katrina Forster
Katrina Forster has over 20 years of occupational health experience.
She has been a Nominated Medical Advisor for the Queensland Coal Board for 12 years with onsite mine experience both open cut and underground.
She also has extensive injury management experience with special interest in mental health issues
Dr Martin Doris
Dr Martin Doris brings 20 years of experience to the practice. He has special interests in travel medicine, skin checks and is able to perform recreational dive medicals.
In north Queensland sun exposure can pose a significant occupational health risk to your workers. Regular skin surveillance can provide a mechanism to detect early skin cancers. Tropocc has access to solar scan mole scanning to document moles of concern and this can be a useful addition to a regular skin check.
Dr Doris is available to meet the needs of your employees travelling overseas. He is registered to provide Yellow Fever vaccines
